The enterprise-class UCS C240 M4 SFF server extends the capabilities of Cisco’s Unified Computing System portfolio in a 2U form factor with the addition of th e Intel® Xeon E5-2600 v3 series processor family that delivers the best combination of performance, flexibil ity and efficiency gains. In addition, the UCS C240 M4 LFF server provides 24 DIMM slots, up to 6 PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 slots, up to 12 front-loading LFF drives plus two (optional) internal SFF SATA boot dr ives for a total of 14 internal drives.

The C240 M4 server includes a modular LAN on motherbo ard (mLOM) slot for installation of a Cisco Virtual Interface Card (VIC) or third-party network interface ca rd (NIC) without consuming a PCI slot in addition to 2 x 1 GbE embedded (on the motherboard) LOM ports. Th ese features combine to provide outstanding levels of internal memory and storage expandab ility along with exceptional performance.

The Cisco UCS C240 M4 server can be used standalone, or as part of the Cisco Unified Computing System, which unifies computing, networki ng, management, virtualization, and storage access into a single integrated architecture enabling end-to-end server vi sibility, management, and co ntrol in both bare metal and virtualized environments.
